NH DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL & CULTURAL RESOURCES
DNCR (formerly DRED) is responsible for the natural, cultural, historial and heritage of the granite state. DNCR is made up of five divisions including, Forests & Lands, State Parks, the State Arts Council, the State Library and Historical Resources.
- Forests & Lands as well as State Parks are the divisions most associated with radio communications. The Forest Protection Bureau is responsible for wildland firefighting and timber law enforcement. Various bureaus within Forests & Lands utilize radios on a limited basis with the Bureau of Communication overseeing all radio systems and sites for DNCR.
- The Division of State Parks is the largest user of radio communications. There are over 90 park properties with varying radio use from having no radios some using several portable, mobile, or stationary radios. Larger state parks include: Bear Brook State Park, Hampton Beach State Park, Monadnock State Park, Mount Washington State Park, and others.
