NH DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL & CULTURAL RESOURCES DNCR (formerly DRED) is responsible for the natural, cultural, historial and heritage of the granite state. DNCR is made up of five divisions including, Forests & Lands, State Parks, the State Arts Council, the State Library and Historical Resources.

Division of Forest and Lands
- The Forest Protection Bureau of DFL handles Law Enforcement and Forest Fire Services and is the primary user of the DFL Radio System. In addition the Forest Protection Bureau operates several Fire Towers and a contract Air Patrol operation. Forest Rangers are split into two Districts with Northern Rangers (District 1) assigned 10-19 and Southern Rangers (District 2) assigned 20-29. Forest Protection Bureau Patrol trucks, Special Deputies and other forest fire staff are assigned three digit ID's coinciding with their ranger district. Northern District 1 is assigned 100-199 and Southern District 2 is assigned 200-299.
