Countywide Information
- In Barnstable County, EMS is handled by the local fire departments

- The standard CMED frequencies are used for ambulance to hospital communications
- The system is for the most part SIMPLEX. EMS patches are controlled via the Barnstable County Sheriff's Department Dispatch Center.
- Dispatchers can switch between various towers on Cape Cod depending on the area in which the communicating ambulance is transiting.
C-MED Frequencies
- Use a 173.8 PL for the CMED BASE frequencies only, and leave the mobile (468 MHz) frequencies as CSQ (carrier squelch).
