Audio Only Scanner Feed

  • Link to feed
  • Opens your default audio player
  • Approximate 60 second delay from actual transmission.

This feed is streamed from my radio room to a remote commercial Shoutcast server at Wavestreaming. We pay $4 a month for server space. A maximum of 10 clients can be connected. Your default media player will open when you click the link. This could be Windows Media Player, Winamp, ITunes, Musicmatch Jukebox, Real Player, etc. Remember, no scanner display with this one. The 60 second delay is normal for the Shoutcast Server.

New England Scanner Feeds Teamspeak Server

The Scan Cape Cod Teamspeak feed remains available as well and is another alternative for near real time (about 1 second delay) feed audio. The Teamspeak Client is of course necessary.

Acknowledgement

I also want to take a moment to offer my sincere thanks to Gommert Buysen of Butel Software. I still strongly support his ARC EazyStream Server and Client, and I continue to be the listowner for the EazyStream Yahoogroup. Thanks for all of your superb software, Gommert!

Feed Hardware and Software

  • 1. Uniden BC796D scanner. This scanner was purchased thanks to the generous donations of our users.
  • 2. 2.6 GHz computer with 768 MB of RAM acting as the server. Donations were also put towards the purchase of this item.
  • 3. Soundblaster MP3+ USB Audio Device.
  • 4. ProScan Server software.
  • 5. Windows Media Encoder 9.
  • 6. Simplecast feed encoder for the audio only feed.
  • 7. Teamspeak Client connected to the New England Scanner Feeds Teamspeak Server.

Miscellaneous

  • 1. I am not responsible for anything you are hearing on the feed.
  • 2. With ProScan and Teamspeak the feed audio is received by you in near real time. However with the Windows Media feed there is a slight delay (average of about 15-20 seconds) from the time the scanner receives the audio until the time you hear it. This is inevitable due to the processing and transferral of the signal. With the audio only feed a 60 second delay exists.
  • 3. Remember, you are listening to a scanner. Unfortunately you don't have control of stopping it for the "hot" calls. No way around that one, sorry! The special event feed may be activated to cover a "hot" event, provided I am in the radio room to do so.
  • 4. While I will be happy to provide answers (if I have them) to routine questions regarding this service I can not and will not offer much if anything in the way of software support. If you are experiencing problems you will need to do the necessary research to discover and eliminate the problem. Again, when the problem is on my end for whatever reason, I will make every effort to post an explanation on the message board at the website.
  • 5. This audio is not affiliated with Cape Cod Fire Scanner Audio, which is graciously supplied by Tim Caldwell/N1RIW. Info on that stream may be obtained by going to Tim's website, a.k.a. "Caldwell's Antenna".
  • 6. Enjoy! Please E-Mail me with any comments.
