Main Feed - ProScan

The primary Scan Cape Cod live scanner feed is now using ProScan software. Why ProScan? Because it's very easy to set up and maintain from a server standpoint, it offers near real time reception of the feed (about 1/2 second delay), it is easy to set up and use from a client standpoint, it offers a full display as shown above in the live feed, and it offers the client some unique capabilities to include audio recording and the recording of historical data in a database at the client's compute. It also allows for a full "mini" display that can remain always on top and be tucked in a corner of your screen. The above links provide access to the free client download, the ProScan website, and the ProScan message forum where the software can be discussed. ProScan Client may require you to download and install Microsoft .NET Framework software as well. The file is actually included in the client download as dotnetfx.exe. If you download from the Microsoft site, you want the "x86" version of Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0. The ProScan Server at Scan Cape Cod allows for a maximum of 10 simultaneous connections.

Windows Media Feed

The Windows Media feed will provide you with audio and the scanner display, but has about a 15 to 20 second delay from real time activity. It is provided via a free streaming server at StreamWebtown.

Audio Only Scanner Feed

  • Link to feed
  • Opens your default audio player
  • Approximate 60 second delay from actual transmission.

This feed is streamed from my radio room to a remote commercial Shoutcast server at Wavestreaming. We pay $4 a month for server space. A maximum of 10 clients can be connected. Your default media player will open when you click the link. This could be Windows Media Player, Winamp, ITunes, Musicmatch Jukebox, Real Player, etc. Remember, no scanner display with this one. The 60 second delay is normal for the Shoutcast Server.

New England Scanner Feeds Teamspeak Server

The Scan Cape Cod Teamspeak feed remains available as well and is another alternative for near real time (about 1 second delay) feed audio. The Teamspeak Client is of course necessary.

Acknowledgement

I also want to take a moment to offer my sincere thanks to Gommert Buysen of Butel Software. I still strongly support his ARC EazyStream Server and Client, and I continue to be the listowner for the EazyStream Yahoogroup. Thanks for all of your superb software, Gommert!
