MAINE FOREST SERVICE

  • Maine Forest Service is part of the Department of Agriculture, Conservation & Forestry (DACF), formerly Dept. of Conservation.
  • MFS has transitioned to MSCOMMNET for most communications.
  • Forest Service Rangers are now routinely dispatched on MSCommNet by the SP RCCs.
  • The future of the MFS conventional repeater system is undetermined, but some sites may stay in service to supplement the digital system in the event of a major forest fire.
