The State of New Hampshire has established a common Fire Communications Channel Plan for Interoperability. All Fire and EMS units within the state share common channels within the plan. There are over 5,000 mobiles and portables in the state programmed as such. The plan is organized as follows:

  • Zones A-C: Local/Mutual Aid Control (no state involvement)
  • Zones D-F: Common Mutual Aid and Community Fire Departments
  • Zone-H: Statewide/Nationwide Interoperability
  • Zones I-P: Medical Control (Ambulance-to-Hospital) Communications

The Hospital Zones are basically Med-1 and Med-2 for New Hampshire Hospitals w/the associated CTCSS Tone in alphabetical order. In addition, selected Hospitals in Maine, Vermont and Massachusetts are added.

Like any system, this is a work in progress which will have revisions over several years. This is the current plan as of 2010
